What is collagen induction therapy

Collagen induction therapy, also known as radio frequency micro-needling uses fine, tiny needles to penetrate the skin to cause micro-wounds or channels in the skin. At QWoman, we use the latest technology that combines micro-needling with radio frequency waves which enhances collagen and elastin production to rejuvenate the skin.

What benefits do you get with collagen induction therapy?

You will have fresher, plump, more youthful skin. Those who suffer with the following conditions below will see the most drastic results after only 2 sessions:

  • Fine lines and wrinkles
  • Acne scarring
  • Large pores
  • Scars from surgery or injury
  • Stretch marks
  • Cellulite
  • Hyperhidrosis.

Skin grows back smoother and rejuvenated. Line and wrinkles are less apparent, and scars become flat with a more consistent texture to the rest of the skin. In hyperhidrosis, the treatment can reduce the number of sweat glands, helping those who suffer with excess sweating.

How long does the procedure last?

That depends on the area that will be treated. To give an approximation, a full-face treatment can take up to 20 minutes.

Does the procedure hurt?

The procedure associated with some discomfort – usually tingling sensations. Painkillers can be taken prior to the treatment to ameloirate these effects.

Is there any down time associated with collagen induction therapy?

Very little. You are OK to carry on as normal, but do not undertake any strenuous exercise or have heat treatments (e.g., sauna, sunbeds). Your skin may be reddened, so bear this in mind. Your skin may be prone to infection because of the puncture wounds so make sure you keep your face clean.

When will I see the results?

You will start to see a difference after a couple of weeks, but the best results will be seen in 3-6 months. A course of treatments is recommended.

How long will the results last?

With a good skincare routine and healthy lifestyle, results can last up to 1 year.

  • Mild acne flare-up
  • Cold sore breakout.
